It all began with my personal fitness journey.

How does a married middle-aged father of two go from performing in West End musical theatre to becoming a passionate advocate for physical training? Let me tell you my story.

My 20-year career in the theatre has taken me from the West End to tours around the UK and abroad. During these years, I always made an effort to find time to work out in a gym, but, as you can imagine, it was sometimes difficult to fit into my schedule. I was aware that I always felt better when I did make the time to exercise. It both made me stronger and gave me the stamina for my sometimes physically challenging career.

Then came the pandemic.

Theatres closed down and I finally had the opportunity to spend more time in the gym. Under the tutelage of my friend, Leanne, a highly experienced personal trainer, I began to really focus on getting into shape. She skillfully took note of where I was coming into the process and guided me toward working on areas that needed improvement. Slowly but surely, I gained strength and knowledge, until my 44-year-old body was in the best shape of its life.

My own experience spurred me to become a trainer and I qualified as a Level 3 PT, a widely-recognized standard of excellence. I work with clients both in person and online, helping them to achieve what I have found so rewarding in my own life. I find great satisfaction in helping people—some of whom weren’t sure it would be possible!—get stronger and feel better. Training also complements my continued theatre career as I am often able to integrate sessions in with co-workers and those local to London’s West End (where I’m still performing up to nine shows/week!).

It may seem like a strange journey, going from performing on stage in front of a large crowd to watching individual clients enhance the performance of their own bodies, but the rewards are much the same—seeing their satisfaction in time well spent.

So, whether you are completely new to exercise or looking to take your current capability to the next level, I look forward to helping you reach your goals either in person or online—whatever fits best into your life. Please contact me and let’s get started.
